Miles Davis Marathon

– A Nightly Journey Through the Master’s Legacy

APPEARING NOVEMBER 5–29, 2025

This November, Epicurus makes jazz history: for the first time ever, audiences will experience the complete live performance of 16 different Miles Davis albums, a new one performed in full every single night— officially presented in partnership with the Miles Davis Estate,  this marathon concert series is a world premiere celebration of the master’s genius.

From the hard-swinging brilliance of Milestones to the electric revolution of Bitches Brew and the slick, soulful grooves of Tutu, each concert immerses you in a defining era of Miles’s artistry, capturing the sound, spirit, and innovation that forever reshaped modern music.

At the helm is Wallace Roney Jr., a rising star trumpeter carrying forward both his own artistry and the legacy of his late father, Wallace Roney — himself a protégé of Miles Davis. Davis’ nephew, drummer Vince Wilburn Jr., has been in Wallace Jr.’s life since childhood and stands as more uncle than family friend, deepening the lineage that unites them all.

Roney Jr. leads an all-star international ensemble: saxophonist Gábor Bolla, bassists Tobias Dall and Felix Pastorius (alternating), and drummers Nikolaj Dall and Jacob Hatholt (alternating), with additional musicians to be announced.

On November 21, the line-up transforms to authentically channel each of Davis’ eras  — from the intimacy of the quintets to the firestorms of fusion— offering audiences a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the career of one of music’s most extraordinary visionaries.

– A true master of swing

Alvin Queen is one of the last remaining masters of straight-ahead jazz drumming. With a career spanning over five decades, he has played with legends like Horace Silver, George Benson, and Charles Tolliver, ultimately cementing his legacy as Oscar Peterson’s longtime drummer. His deeply rooted swing, precision, and dynamic intensity have made him a defining force in jazz.

Mentored by Elvin Jones from age 11, Queen embodies the essence of jazz drumming, drawing from greats like Max Roach and Art Blakey while forging his own unique style. His playing is a powerful blend of fire, lyricism, and pure musical instinct, capable of both thunderous swing and delicate emotional depth.

His acclaimed album Night Train to Copenhagen, produced by Niels Lan Doky, pays homage to jazz tradition while showcasing his modern sensibility. With a spirit of innovation and an unwavering commitment to the art form, Alvin Queen remains, as musicians often proclaim, “the real deal”.

Alvin Queen invites audiences into a world where jazz meets the unexpected—where the timeless energy of swing transforms contemporary anthems into modern standards. Don’t miss the chance to witness a living legend at work.

“Performing a different Miles Davis record every night is every musician’s dream—and a once-in-a-lifetime gift to any audience.”
