Join us for a celebration of the great Harvey Mason and his remarkable career, featuring the living legend himself on stage. As part of his Epicurus residency, HARVEY MASON will lead a spectacular supertrio that includes Felix Pastorius, the son of the iconic Weather Report bassist Jaco Pastorius, who has established himself as a distinctive virtuoso in his own right. The ensemble will also feature pianist and music director Sir Niels Lan Doky, renowned for his unparalleled contributions to European jazz. This event promises to be an extraordinary musical experience, showcasing the talents of these three exceptional artists.

Harvey Mason

Felix Pastorius
Following in the footsteps of his late father, Jaco Pastorius, Felix has carved his own identity as a six-string fretted bass virtuoso, and continues to push the boundaries of jazz bass playing.

Sir Niels Lan Doky
Hailed as one of the most important pianists in European jazz over the last five decades, Danish born Sir Doky’s performances are known for their lyrical quality and improvisational brilliance.

Widely recognized as one of the greatest drummers and most recorded musicians of all time, Harvey Mason has contributed to over 1,000 albums and 150 movie soundtracks. His extraordinary versatility, profound mastery, and transformative contributions have left an indelible mark on music, reaching audiences worldwide for over six decades. His influence is evident in genres ranging from jazz to pop, making him a pivotal figure in shaping modern music.
Best known for his groundbreaking collaboration with Herbie Hancock on the 1973 jazz/fusion album Headhunters, Mason has worked with a pantheon of musical giants across genres. These include Duke Ellington, James Brown, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Ray Charles, John Legend, Seal, Björk, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, The Notorious B.I.G., Quincy Jones, Carlos Santana, and the London Symphony Orchestra. And that is just the tip of the iceberg!
Nicknamed “The Chameleon” for his co-written song of the same name and unmatched musical adaptability, Mason has also contributed to projects like Miles Davis’ Dingo and collaborated with Brazilian artists such as Djavan and Antônio Carlos Jobim.
In addition to being a drummer and percussionist he is also a producer and composer. A graduate of the New England Conservatory, he has received honorary doctorate degrees from Berklee College of Music and the University of West London.
As a solo artist, Mason has released 14 projects, including Grammy-winning jazz albums With All My Heart and Changing Partners, featuring legends like Chick Corea and Ron Carter. He is also a founding member of the multi-platinum jazz/fusion supergroup Fourplay alongside Bob James, Nathan East, and Lee Ritenour. Notably, he was featured on George Benson’s hit song “On Broadway.”
His film soundtrack credentials include iconic blockbusters such as Star Wars, Ratatouille, Mission: Impossible III, and The Color Purple. Mason’s enduring contributions to music exemplify his unparalleled artistry and influence across the global music landscape.
