As depicted in “Darryl Jones – In the Blood,” the recent documentary by Eric Hamburg featuring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood, and Miles Davis, Darryl Jones’ ultimate ambition has long been to form his own band. That ambition is now becoming reality as he embarks on a four-week residency at Epicurus, where he will premiere his personal musical vision.

Darryl Jones
– From Chicago Roots to Rock Royalty
Darryl Jones is an acclaimed bassist from Chicago whose career spans jazz, rock, and beyond. A protégé of Miles Davis in the 1980s, he toured and recorded on albums including Decoy and You’re Under Arrest. He went on to work with Sting on The Dream of the Blue Turtles and toured with artists such as Peter Gabriel, Eric Clapton, Madonna, and Herbie Hancock.
Since 1993, Jones has been the bassist for The Rolling Stones, performing on albums, tours, and films. Beyond his Stones tenure, he has led projects like The Darryl Jones Project, Stone Raiders, and 3 Brave Souls, showcasing his soulful, genre-defying style.
A champion of music education, Jones founded Jones Musical Instruments to support public school programs. His diverse artistry extends to film scoring, acting studies, and voiceover work. Combining deep musical insight with restless creativity, Jones continues to collaborate with an eclectic mix of artists while evolving his own sound as a composer and bandleader.
